Over the past few weeks I've visited my new favorite burger joint, One Burger, twice. Let me just start by saying that this place makes the best burgers in Miami hands down. Nothing in this city can top it. They're super flavorful, without being greasy, which may seem weird. But it's really not an oily, greasy burger that drips all over the place. I often describe their burgers as "classy", simply because there is no better way to describe them.
Alright, so lets talk about some specific burgers. The two I had most recently were called the Frita Cubana (top) and the Fancy Bacon Cheddar (bottom). The Frita is quite delicious, with cuban seasoned beef, chopped onions, and a mild salsa on top. It was pretty tasty. The Fancy Bacon Cheddar, my personal favorite at this place, comes with Italian pancetta bacon, sharp Vermont Cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and a scrumptious worcestershire spread. Last time I had this burger I almost teared up with regret when I finished it. It was one of those meals that you wish wouldn't end. Every time I finish this one I have to try really hard not to jump up and order another one. This burger is definitely so tasty.
You may also notice the fries in these pictures. Yeah they're thick cut, yeah, they're seasoned, and yes they have been deep fried to a nice, golden crispiness. Mmmmmmm. They call these fries their spicy fries, but they're really not all that spicy. They're just super flavorful and delicious. I would say that no One Burger purchase is complete without them.
Overall, I am gonna have to give One Burger a rating of So Tasty for being the best burgers in Miami. They're also pretty inexpensive usually setting you back about $8 with a student discount. Check this place out for sure.

The other night my favorite Miami food truck, El Rincon del Coqui, came to campus. I hadn't had it for a couple months so I was really craving it. There specialty is sandwiches made with chicken, churrasco and pork. My personal favorite is called the dupleta, a chicken a churrasco sandwich that closely mimics another of my favorite food trucks called El Churry in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This sandwich comes with tons of grilled chicken, tons of churrasco steak, potato sticks, lettuce and their house made (or should i say truck made?) sauce. It's massive. You really have to take a break in the middle of eating this sandwich. Either that or really pace yourself. At any rate, this sandwich is real good. Pretty satisfying and guaranteed to keep you from even thinking about food for the next 10 hours. All that being said, it's not quite as good as my favorite San Juan food truck, El Churry. The meat just isn't as tender or flavor packed. It's also a little bit more expensive, setting you back 9 bucks with a drink (check the Jupina in the back. Mmmm). I mean the sandwich is big, but no sandwich is worth that much money, especially from a food truck. In the end I would have to give this a rating of Pretty Tasty, for being the best chicken and churassco sandwich place in Miami, but being a little to expensive and not quite as good as the Puerto Rican food truck it is imitating.

Today I had the pleasure of eating at my favorite local cuban place, the Mojito Grill. Talk about good food. I've been eating here for over a year now and every time I go I am incredibly satisfied. Their selection is pretty good, serving mostly sandwiches, wraps, and a few other cuban favorites, all cooked up for you on the spot. Usually when I go to Mojito, I order what's called the cuban bowl (pictured on the left). It comes with rice, black beans, sweet plantains (they seriously taste like candy), grilled onions, and your choice of grilled chicken or steak. I almost always get the chicken to be honest because it's just the tastier option of the two. Especially when you consider they grill it up with a little bit of lime juice...I mean come on. What do you think tastes better with lime? Chicken or steak? Chicken...duh.
However, on this visit to Mojito, I mixed it up and splurged on what is called the pan con bistec empanizado (pictured on the right). Aka the breaded steak sandwich. Can you say victory? It's basically a huge, deep fried steak smashed in between some cuban bread with potato sticks, lettuce and mayo on top. Can you really see yourself passing up a sandwich like that? Probably not. At any rate, every bite of this sandwich is better then the next and you can take a million bites because its HUGE. I would highly recommend this sandwich to anyone who visits the Mojito Grill. Also, notice the Junpina soda in the back. It's the best pineapple soda you will ever have and it's the only soda that is truly worthy of accompanying this food.
What I like most about Mojito is that it is so cheap. Everything on the menu is pretty inexpensive in the first place, but if you're a UM student they discount it even more. Usually I walk out of this place having spent less then six bucks on dinner. It really fills you up to, which is a major plus for hungry college students. Overall guys, Im gonna have to give the Mojito Grill a rating of super delicious for just being awesome and satisfying.

The other night I went to this restaurant downtown called La Moon. I've been multiple times and every time I go I get the Super Moon Perro, the best columbian hot dog in all of Miami. Seriously. Let me just preface this entry by saying this hot dog is way beyond soooo tasty. It is one of the tastiest things I have ever eaten. It comes with chorizo (sausage on top of sausage...mmmmm), bacon, melted cheese, potato sticks, ketchup, mustard, pink sauce, garlic mayo, pineapple sauce, and a quail egg. Some people may think that's too many things on a hot dog, but trust me, it's not. Each ingredient just adds to the tastiness. Really guys, my life was a little incomplete before I tried this thing. It's one of those meals that just makes everything seem right in the world. The best thing about his columbian hot dog is that it only costs 6 bucks. It's a suuuppperr cheap meal that is easily affordable on a college budget. Another plus is that La Moon is generally open late, especially on weekends. So forget taco bell for 4th meal, GO TO LA MOON. Just writing about it makes me crave its super cheap tastiness.
But really guys...This is super delicious!
