The other night my favorite Miami food truck, El Rincon del Coqui, came to campus. I hadn't had it for a couple months so I was really craving it. There specialty is sandwiches made with chicken, churrasco and pork. My personal favorite is called the dupleta, a chicken a churrasco sandwich that closely mimics another of my favorite food trucks called El Churry in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This sandwich comes with tons of grilled chicken, tons of churrasco steak, potato sticks, lettuce and their house made (or should i say truck made?) sauce. It's massive. You really have to take a break in the middle of eating this sandwich. Either that or really pace yourself. At any rate, this sandwich is real good. Pretty satisfying and guaranteed to keep you from even thinking about food for the next 10 hours. All that being said, it's not quite as good as my favorite San Juan food truck, El Churry. The meat just isn't as tender or flavor packed. It's also a little bit more expensive, setting you back 9 bucks with a drink (check the Jupina in the back. Mmmm). I mean the sandwich is big, but no sandwich is worth that much money, especially from a food truck. In the end I would have to give this a rating of Pretty Tasty, for being the best chicken and churassco sandwich place in Miami, but being a little to expensive and not quite as good as the Puerto Rican food truck it is imitating.
